3. You Feel Fatigued and Sluggish

When the body is dehydrated, it “borrows” water from your blood. The absence of hydrated blood leads to a lack of oxygen throughout the body. Consequently, a lack of oxygen leads to sleepiness and serious fatigue. Remember: no matter how much coffee you drink, only water can resolve that lack of stamina!

4. Your Mouth Is Dry

This may seem humorous, but the ramifications are no laughing matter. Many people are tempted to reach for a sugary drink to get rid of that sticky, nasty feeling in your mouth. However, they’re only a temporary solution to a greater problem. To keep your mouth moist with saliva beyond that first sip, lubricate the mucus membranes in your mouth and throat by simply drinking water.

Your Muscle Mass Decreases

Since muscles are comprised mostly of water, less water in the body obviously results in less muscle mass. It’s especially important to drink water before, during, and after a workout. This not only keeps you hydrated and comfortable, but it also lowers the chance of developing soreness and inflammation.
