After The Holidays

While the holidays are definitely a pleasant time for you, your body may not agree with you on this. Sweets, heavy foods, and alcohol affect your internal organs greatly, making you not only gain weight but also feel worse. Due to that, some people find it hard to get back on track after a good vacation. We want to help you with that and so offer 10 useful tips.

1. Drink more water

Water cleanses the body, helping it get rid of all toxins. If you usually don’t drink much water, be sure not to overdo this; increase the amount of the water you drink slowly and carefully. It’s good to drink a glass of water right after you wake up; this helps boosting the metabolism processes in your body and preparing you for breakfast.

2. Eat a healthy breakfast

Being busy, we neglect our breakfast sometimes, thinking that a simple snack when we arrive at work will do. However, it’s very important to have a proper, healthy breakfast in one hour after you wake up; this way you’ll feel more energized during the day.

3. Try to eat more often and stick to small portions

When we eat 4-5 times a day and stick to small portions of meals, it boosts our metabolism. This can quicken your weight loss process (if you need one) and remove toxins from your body faster. Of course, not all of us have enough time to eat often during work. However, it is still possible if you take healthy snacks with you; for example, fruits and yogurt can be counted as a proper meal.

4. Add more vegetables and fruits to your daily ration

It is very important to add more vitamins and minerals to our daily diet if we want to quickly recover after the holidays, as we usually forget about nutrition during that time. Adding more fruits and vegetables is the best and easiest way to do so. However, you have to be sure that you consume enough of them – or try green juices instead.

5. Try green juices

Unlike ordinary supermarket ones, green slow juices are a great source of various nutrients. They are made with the help of special technology, allowing them to preserve more fiber, vitamins, and minerals. No wonder these juices are not only delicious but very nutritious too: Drinking just one bottle of such juice is enough to fulfill your daily need for vitamins and minerals.

6. Try counting calories

Counting calories is a good way to realize what exactly do you it and how it affects your body. Sometimes it’s hard for people to understand what exactly is wrong with their diet (especially if they don’t know much about a healthy diet). By counting calories you’ll find out how much nutrients you consume every day, your diet is more balanced and you understand what foods affect your weight and health the most.

7. Be more active

Not all of us spend our holidays actively; some prefer relaxing in front of their TV instead. However, being more active helps people not only to get back in shape but also to feel better and more energized. This is very important for anyone, who wants to switch to their post-holiday routines without struggling too much.

8. Get rid of unhealthy food

It is hard to switch to healthy eating or start a detox right after the holiday when your kitchen is packed with unhealthy food, sweets, and alcohol. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to abandon all delicious but unhealthy snacks forever; however, the healthier your post-holiday diet will be, the sooner you’ll feel better. Therefore, you need to stop buying various unhealthy food and get rid of the sweets and chips you already have.

9. Prepare your meals beforehand

It’s hard to think rationally and to choose the healthiest products when you’re hungry. That’s why you need to be sure that you’ll always have something healthy to eat. Plan your daily ration, take a homemade lunch with you and try to store something healthy (like vegetables or a bottle of slow juice) in a fridge, so you’ll have a healthy snack option when you come home from work.

10. Try detoxing

Detox is one of the best ways to cleanse your body. There are a few types of detox, and juicing is one of the easiest of them. When you detox by juicing, all you need to do is to prepare slow juice and consume it a few times a day; this way you’ll receive enough nutrients while cleansing your body well.
